Spring 2017: Volume 73, Number 1
It’s been a busy start to 2017 in Spokane. On January 21st, several of our chapter members staffed a WSPA table at the Women’s March on Spokane. They made connections with other psychologists in the community and directed those seeking mental health care toward relevant resources. We have had chapter meetings with CE presentations on Functional Analytic Psychotherapy and a psychopharmacology update. We’ll be hosting a “bonus” spring chapter meeting to learn about Compassion-Focused Therapy as well as connect with two members of NAMI Spokane in advance of the NAMI Walk on the west side.
Chapter members were very appreciative that staff was able to bring in Dr. Jull-Patterson from San Francisco for a 4 CE workshop on ethics on April 1st, and even more thrilled when the Gonzaga men’s basketball team beat South Carolina to advance to the 2017 NCAA Championship later that afternoon. Finally, we’re gearing up to have a 3 CE workshop on inter-professional care for transgender individuals in May with a panel of community experts in various disciplines.
Lastly, we want to welcome Megan Russell, Psy.D. to WSPA. She works at Northwest Spine and Pain Management.
