The WSPA CE Committee is currently recruiting new members to assist with reviewing CE workshop proposals. Serving on the CE Committee is a low time-commitment way to contribute to the WSPA community and be involved in the process of ensuring quality CE workshops for psychologists. The Committee strives for a collaborative, collegial, and constructive process. By serving on this key WSPA committee, you also have the opportunity to reduce your annual membership fees.
As an APA-approved sponsor, WSPA ensures that high quality, scientifically sound and educational workshops are approved through the CE Committee for chapter meetings, one day regional workshops, and our statewide fall convention. The CE Committee also reviews applications submitted by outside organizations offering professional development for mental health professionals, including psychologists.
The Committee’s workload varies according to the flow of CE applications and averages a couple of hours per month per member. Training and orientation involves learning and implementing APAs technical requirements for CE programs, in addition to WSPA-specific program elements, which members describe as straightforward. Reviews are conducted using online platforms, so applications can be read at your convenience. The Committee meets 1-2 times per year, either face-to-face or via remote conferencing as needed.
As a thank-you for this important service, WSPA offers $2 off per application reviewed (capped at 15 applications per year). CE Committee members therefore have the opportunity to reduce their annual membership fees by as much as $30.
